Edwardian Lace Frill Blouse

$165.00

Availability: In stock

Your dream blouse, decadent with row upon row of tiny pin tucks, lacey cuffs, crochet pom poms and a pièce de resistance front frill showcasing even more lace and applique. Crochet pom poms run from the shoulder to cuff while the front piece features panels of lace and crochet with three applique patterns and a large frill that flares to the left. Delicate shell buttons run the entire length at center back, closing with a mix of thread loops and traditional button holes, finishing with a metal snap at the waist. The hem has been altered at some stage so is a little uneven but still perfect for wearing over jeans or tucking into a skirt.

This blouse once belonged to fashionista and intrepid traveller, the late Stella Veitch. Stella was known for her taste for well made, fashionable clothing and her independence as a single woman travelling the globe during a time when it was uncommon for women to do so. She evidently built up a collection of local labels and vintage pieces while travelling the world in the 1960s before coming to New Zealand.
