1940s black virgin wool skirt suit with the most amazing teardrop shaped breast pockets, covered in seed and bugle beads. Three chunky soutache and beaded jet black buttons make a statement at centre front. The jacket is delicately tailored with darts down the front, padded shoulders and a slightly nipped waist. The skirt is A-line, knee length with a zip up the back. Both jacket and skirt are made from unlined, medium weight wool. This is very film noir, strikingly glamourous with intense detailing and has more of a 40s boxy shape as an alternative to the well known 50s fit and flare suit.
