A beautiful early 1960s day dress with textured neckline and waistband. Made in candy pink polished cotton (chintz) with a mid-century stylised floral print in teal, dark green and white. The narrow waist is emphasized by a loose top with wide shoulders opening to simple sleeves, darts at the bust and a scoop neck. The waist is a thick band of fine pleats in the same fabric flaring out to a wide A line skirt. The same pleated panel highlights the scooped neckline. Overall, this dress is unlined and made from a light-medium weight fabric that is soft and comfortable and can be ironed to give a crisper shape. There is a metal zip topped with a hook and eye closure at centre back that runs well below the waist making this easy to step into. You can wear this retro dress with or without a petticoat and it speaks vintage charm for any occasion whether it be a picnic or a garden wedding.
