1940 to early 50s Lilli Ann tailored twill navy jacket. Padded shoulders and white piped lapels are characteristic of the 1940s style. The fabric is patterned with chic cream dashes like little shooting stars. The waist is nipped with padded peplum and folded back cuff. The jacket has cream textured dome plastic buttons. Lined with silk, the jacket is medium weight and suitable for all seasons. The fabric is French imported and the tailoring is beautiful which is what makes vintage Lilli Ann pieces so desirable. Adolph Schuman founded the Lilli Ann Label in 1933. He would travel to France to hand select fabrics from small French textile businesses. For this he was credited with keeping the boutique industry alive in France after the war.
